'FUSE' is a body of work combining elements of female power, ritual and community. The project covered research into world wide body modifications - scarification, tattoos, piercings, symbols, body paint, patterns etc. and the meanings or reasons behind them. Important movements such as Black Lives Matter and Afropunk became a vital part of my research, basing their ideologies around notions of equality, celebrating people of colour and their cultures, and protesting for basic human rights. I wanted to show the fusion between different cultures and how we as humans can live harmoniously. The aim is to keep spreading awareness on racial issues, POC representation and women's rights.
